Dr. Leslie E. Lawrence is an academic physician with nearly twenty years of experience, including extensive experience caring for people with complex psychiatric disorders. She completed her Psychiatry Residency Training at the Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans where she served as Chief Resident during Hurricane Katrina. She began her academic career at the Tulane University School of Medicine where she focused on public psychiatry and those who were socioeconomic disadvantaged. She has directed and participated in interdisciplinary clinical programs in diverse healthcare settings. In addition, she has extensive experience in graduate and undergraduate medical education. Dr. Lawrence served as the Co-Director of the Psychiatry Residency Training Program and directed medical education for resident physicians. She has participated in scholarly activities at the local, regional, national and international level. Lastly, Dr. Lawrence is currently a part-time private and community-based psychiatrist in private practice in the New Orleans region.
